Mental health is important at all ages and stages, but especially in the pediatric and adolescent population, we have seen increasing need for support. The FCC has required providers to make “988” available by July 16, 2022. This number connects those experiencing a mental health crisis with trained staff and is run by the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. The goal is to lessen 911 calls for mental health, and connect people in crisis with appropriate help right away. This new number will be rolled out state by state, and it is text-compatible, making it more adolescent friendly.
