Teledermatology proven effective Modality for Evaluation and treatment of Infantile Hemangiomas by Pediatric Dermatologists

Pediatric dermatologists are “birthmark experts”, among other things. A major problme is getting babies to pediatric dermatologists early, before they are 2 months old, to have the best effects if they need treatment. The hope is that teledermatology can help lessen the usual long wait times for a specialist and get treatment before irreversible changes occur.

A well-done study published in Pediatric Dermatology showed that teledermatology can be a safe and effective way to evaluate and treatment infantile hemangiomas in most cases. A summary for the general public can be found here:
