2023 Minnesota Awardees in Rural Health
Celebrating National Rural Health Day (Nov 16, 2023) with a shout out to the 2023 Minnesota Rural Health Award winners:
Ann Bussey: 2023 Minnesota Rural Health Hero Policy Award, advocating for rural-residing older adults needs to be reflected in policy decisions on the Iron Range and beyond.
Shannon Shaw, FNP: 2023 Minnesota Rural Health Hero Practitioner Award, ensuring access to comprehensive, age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care for victims of child abuse, sexual assault, neglect, trafficking and intimate partner violence in northern Minnesota.
Riverwood Healthcare Center, Aitkin: 2023 Minnesota Rural Health Team Award, not only identifying the social determinants of health among their patients, but importantly creating community partnerships to address those needs.
Ted Matthews: 2023 Minnesota Rural Health Lifetime Achievement Award, providing mental health support to farmers across the state.
